- Once dough is baked and cooled, feel free to paint or leave natural!
- If desired, add 4=10 drops of essential oils of choice to add a beautiful, natural scent.
The essential oils we used
I used a homemade blend I love to diffuse during the winter. We call this blend “Woodland forest friend” in these simple DIY salt dough recipe for diffuser ornaments! It’s so earthy and natural, and smells like a crisp morning walk through the woods in December.
Add some pine, cedarwood, copaiba, thieves and peppermint. However, you can also use any oil you want! Christmas spirit or any tree oil is another great option! To be completely cautious, I would be careful hanging these too close to lights. Some tree oils have a flash point that will cause them to ignite easily. While you probably don’t have to worry, I would be cautious to not hang them directly next to something that gives off a lot of heat. Essential oil safety is a must, friends!
