How to make a grapefruit rosemary & rose water paloma cocktail

Sharing is caring!

If you love margaritas, you will love this refreshing, fruity, floral and zesty grapefruit rosemary rose water Paloma. Made with quality tequila, rosemary syrup, fresh squeezed juice, sparkling water, and a hint of rosewater. It's our latest obsession.

Last week I made a trip to Nebeul to witness a floral water making. A pottery maker shared how they make large batches of neroli, rose, Jasmin, mint water and more. I stocked up on my beloved rose water, as I love to drink it in my coffee and tea. One evening, I decided I'd add it to my cocktail, and here we are.

This cocktail is a beautiful balance flavor between the distinctive oak flavor in tequila, fresh squeezed sour grapefruit juice, sweet herbaceous rosemary simple syrup, and just a hint of subtle rose water. If you plan to make a delicious and unique tequila cocktail for cinco de mayo, give this recipe a try!

What is a Paloma?

Paloma translates from Spanish to "dove", which is very fitting for this beautiful drink. Traditionally Palomas contain tequilas and grapefruit. If you can find grapefruit sparkling water, like a traditional grapefruit soda it's recommended in this recipe to keep it traditional. Fresca is also a great, easy to find choice.

Our spin on the classic Paloma

Our recipe can not be considered traditional, as we used grapefruit juice + sparkling water instead of grapefruit soda, due to lack of availability here in Tunisia. Rosewater and rosemary syrup are also not traditionally found in Paloma. They are our variation of this wonderful popular drink.
